Music in Kingston - 18 May 2024
Join the Kingston Music Service and a host of the most exciting music makers in the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames for an afternoon of performances, workshops, and exhibitions, 12.00-15.00 on Saturday 18th May 2024. Held in the glorious surroundings of All Saints Church, Kingston, this is an opportunity for young people and adults alike to explore a breadth of what the borough has to offer, from listening to short performances, to taking part in free workshops, or even having a go at a brand new instrument.
Our exhibitors will include:
Kingston Music Service, Monkey Music, Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra, Creative Youth, Kingston University, Action Theatre, Community Drumming, Surbiton Royal British Legion Youth Marching Band, Story Storks, All Saints Choir, Junior Jammers, and more to be announced.

East & South East Asian Festival

Rose Theatre & Kingston Ancient Market Place
The Korean British Culture Exchange proudly presents the first ESEA Festival in Kingston celebrating the food, music and culture of this rich diaspora.
The eclectic programme includes a concert of traditional music at the Rose Theatre on the 10th Sept; a Random Dance Challenge on Friday 15th Sept, 5pm, Ancient Market Place, Kingston; the Autumn Moon Festival on 16th Sept with dance, music, street food, craft stalls and martial arts demonstrations. Live music from 2pm will feature a fusion of alternative pop with performers from Nepal, the Philippines, Korea and Thailand under the direction of talented rap artist, PianWoo. Chess Corner
Kingston Chess Club and Kingston Council are delighted to invite you to the official opening of Chess Corner at Fairfield Recreation Ground, Fairfield Road, Kingston KT1 2PT (next to the changing rooms).
The launch event will take place on Thursday 28th September, 4pm to 6pm.
Members of the public and local chess clubs are invited to participate in a fun and friendly challenge competition with members of Kingston Chess Club

Get ready to celebrate as the streets come alive to the sounds, sights and tastes of Carnival in Kingston! This year’s theme will focus on wellbeing and celebrating the communities living in the borough, with a joyful fun-filled programme for all ages. Starting at 12 noon the colourful Mas bands will parade from the Guildhall through the town centre to the Ancient Market Place. Highlights include family activities, two live music stages, a sound system and authentic street food from around the world, See you there!
SURBITON FESTIVAL 2023

With a Parade celebrating local community groups, live music in three venues around the area, lots of family friendly activities, great food and drink Surbiton Festival is a fantastic community event run by volunteers.
The ever popular Surbiton Festival Market day offers an exciting trading and marketing opportunity for local businesses, crafts people, organisations and charities for an estimated footfall of up to 10,000 people.
Kingston Museum Saxon Fayre - Then and Now
Wes Hal! Hu meach thu? Or rather Hello! How are you? This year we will be hosting our first Saxon Fayre for all to enjoy. This day for all the family will be all about the Saxon way of life then and now. With the opportunity to take part in games, create interesting Saxon inspired pots and jewellery, take part in guided tours by Kingston Tour Guides and even learn about Saxon Bee keeping. There will also be storytelling and even Saxon inspired music too. It’s a day not to be missed.
The Thin White Duke - David Bowie tribute band

This is a free music event is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Book a ticket on eventbrite and also bring along a lottery ticket to the performance and show both of these to the steward at the entrance.
We advise you to bring blankets or picnic chairs to sit (the event is in the green space next to the museum)
On stage, the 6-piece band capture the sound and vision of a live Bowie concert. The audience are taken on a 2-hour journey through David Bowie's golden years starting with the glam rock of Ziggy Stardust for the first half of the show. Hits such as "Space Oddity", "Starman” and "The Jean Genie" are delivered with exacting faithfulness to the original recordings.
For the second half of the show, David Bowie's Thin White Duke character lights up the dance floor with hits including "Let's Dance", "Heroes" and "Rebel Rebel".
