About the Friends

The principal purpose of the Friends of Kingston Museum and History Centre is to support Kingston Museum and Kingston History Centre. It is a registered charity. By joining the Friends, you are strengthening their work, such as the revival and continuing support for the Council’s Brill Collection of paintings of our Royal Borough, and sponsoring the promotion of the Museum and History Centre.

The Friends also provide benefits to its members, such as a 10% reduction on purchases from the museum shop, a regular series of talks at the museum and an annual coach outing.

Events

The Friends hold lectures at Kingston Museum, in the Art Gallery (upstairs, accessible by lift).

To see our programme of talks hosted by the Friends, visit our events page.

The Friends also sponsor an annual photography competition, called Capture Kingston, in memory of Les Kirkin, who was a long-time supporter of the Heritage Service and contributed many images to the archive.
