SCHOOLS AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Schools

The Kingston 2025 programme will be delivered with a range of partners who will be offering exciting opportunities for children and young people to engage in different creative and heritage projects, so be sure to check this page for regular updates.

We are currently looking for secondary schools who would like to participate in a new musical commission, featuring young players and musicians, to be staged at the Rose Theatre as part of the Kingston 2025 celebrations. The new work will be showcased in the summer as part of Fuse Festival.

Kingston Museum offers a core programme of workshops curated in line with the National Curriculum and local history. This includes Saxon Stories (KS2) where students explore what life might have looked like during the reign of Athelstan. Other workshops include an introductory Museum exploration in Our Kingston Story (KS1) and Second World War-themed Kingston at War (KS2)

We will also be working with local community partners to expand our primary and secondary offer in a range of exciting and innovative projects, including Ariadne’s Thread and Ciné Schools. Some of these projects will include the option of outreach sessions to schools.

If you would like more information about these opportunities, or would like us to put you in touch with the relevant partner organisations, please contact us: celebratekingston2025@kingston.gov.uk
