Encounter, Engagement, and Expression: Navigating Kingston with Art
Walk, Community Art Workshop
17/08/2024 and 19/10/2024
Photo walk and cyanotype workshops: 10:00 - 14:00
Embroidery workshops: 14:00 - 17:00
Kingston Town / New Malden / Tolworth
Calling for Kingston residents! Let's travel around the community with our cameras or mobile phones, connect to the community with textile art, and let art speak for our stories. Our collective artworks will also be exhibited in Kingston at the end of this year!
Supported by Mayor of London, this project is based in three communities (Kingston Town, New Malden, Tolworth). It encourages Hong Kongers and locals to participate in the two-day event to make friends, share stories and create collective artworks! We will start with a photo walk to learn about the local area and relevant community organisations. You can take photos of things of interest, and the image will be developed on fabric using cyanotype; the next day, we will further build up that piece of cyanotype cloth with embroidery.
