Kingston First

Kingston First is the business improvement district (BID) for Kingston town centre. We support and empower Kingston's businesses with our services, while ensuring the town is a thriving and vibrant place to visit, work and live in. We also run In Kingston, to help shine a spotlight on our wonderful town and all it has to offer.

Kingston First and Kingston Heritage Service regularly work together to activate Kingston's town centre and highlight Kingston's wealth of heritage across the borough.

Kingston First worked with Kingston Heritage Service on the first Kingston Heritage Festival in 2019, and the online version of the festival which ran in 2020, inviting residents to delve into Kingston's rich history. Kingston Heritage Festival is a bringing together of various events that take place annually in September, including Open House, Heritage Open Days and Totally Thames Festival, into one big celebration of Kingston's past and present. We also produced two Streets of History exhibitions: Lest We Forget, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, and Eadweard Muybridge, celebrating the Kingston-born photographer and inventor.
