Professional and part-time artists from Kingston and beyond are invited to submit ideas for a contemporary sculpture which will form part of a new sculpture trail, set to open in August 2021.
The project is being organised through a partnership of the Canbury Community Trust, Kingston Council, Kingston First and Kingston University.
The trail will be located within Kingston town centre and Canbury Gardens, and will comprise six new artworks. One of the six sculptures will become a permanent artwork in the town centre. This will be chosen by residents and visitors who will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite sculpture. The winning artist will receive £10,000 prize money.
Interested artists are invited to put forward a proposal for a place on the trail, for either a free-standing sculpture or an artwork fabricated in situ. More information is available here.
The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 30 April.
