About the competition

Capture Kingston is an annual photography competition sponsored by the Friends of Kingston Museum and Heritage Service in collaboration with Kingston Council. The competition was set up in memory of Les Kirkin to ensure Kingston's photographic collection continues to record the ever changing history of the Borough.

We are excited to announce the theme for this year's photo competition is Celebrate Kingston 2025!

There is a full programme of events, check out the itinerary of Kingston 2025

As well as photographs taken at any of the events listed, we also welcome photographs from any street parties, VE Day celebrations and any community events taking place from May-October.

We would like as many people as possible to see and be inspired by your photography submissions and very much look forward to sharing them.

All submissions will become part of Kingston's Local History Collection for future generations to enjoy.
